Job Description of the ECPPS MircoSchool Program Guide

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Supervises: Teachers & Other staff members
Purpose: The Microschool Program Guide oversees the daily operations, instructional leadership, oversight of students, and partnership responsibilities of the Microschools program. At the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction, the Microschool Program Guide shares responsibility for all aspects of the Mircroschools program including, but not limited to: development and implementation of an innovative instructional program, facilities usage and maintenance in partnership and coordination with the microschool site, family/community relations, and the oversight of student academics and learning goals. This position requires open and ongoing communication with the partnership support staff, curriculum development, software system knowledge in order to be able to respond to student questions; and the ability to observe and control student behavior in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate operations and instructional leadership of the hybrid program.
- Develop and implement innovative, high-quality, curriculum and daily schedules that incorporate student interests and required curricula.
- Communicate and implement the ECPPS philosophy and vision with the school and community.
- Coordinate and maintain regular communication with the Microschool support team
- Assist in the analysis of all data associated with students and parents (test results, on-going progress monitoring, parent satisfaction, discipline infractions, absences, tardiness, etc.)
- Communicate with the site staff in regards to the students’ schedule when they are on site for on site programming.
- Develop and execute project-based learning plans for students on site.
- Coordinate project-based learning plans.
- Utilize and analyze data to assist in developing and monitoring the microschool plan and the educational goals.
- Monitor instruction through review of lesson plans, instructional delivery, feedback to staff on instructional strategies.
- Develop and implement plans for continuing each school year with Microschool partnerships.
- Ensure the appropriate use of technology and integration with the teaching/learning process.
- Effectively communicate student progress to all appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a communication system with parents and staff.
- Facilitate and/or participate in all pertinent meetings and programs associated with the schools and mircroschool’s program.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ensure the team is meeting goals related to developing new programs and delivering on existing goals to improve achievement and increased use of instructional technology at all levels.
- Deliver highest customer satisfaction and customer retention through continual evaluation of the microschools program effectiveness and monitoring student success.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time, up to 8 hours, with the ability to lift 30 pounds repetitively
- Must be able to stoop, squat, bend, twist, stretch, turn, lift, and carry
- Knowledge of NC Academic Standards and researched-based instruction
- Knowledge of and understanding of ECPPS Mission
- Knowledge of families and community at ECPPS Microschool

Training and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in School Administration, preferred.
- Active, or transferable, North Carolina Teaching License required.
- Experience working in a leadership or supervisory capacity for school programming, preferred.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative program design and coordination, preferred.
- Experience with blended learning models and teacher leadership, preferred.
- Experience with partner management, preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Commercial Driver’s License, or be willing to obtain such license within the first year of employment.
Salary: Teacher Salary Scale + Supplement
Full-time 12 month employment
