Behavior Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Behavior Coach will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment for all students. The Behavior Coach will help students resolve problems that interfere with their gaining the greatest benefit from the school's educational opportunities.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in creating a positive school environment conducive to teaching and learning.
- Serve as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues and student discipline.
- Assist the principal with the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of students.
- Assist in developing and implementing behavior expectations, plans, and interventions for students.
- Work closely with parents to foster positive relations and to support student learning.
- Communicate effectively and openly with parents and the public, and continue positive school/community relations and partnerships that enhance schools programs and services.
- Support policies, rules and regulations established by the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools.
- Work cooperatively with the principal, school counselor, nurse, staff, students and parents towards a positive school climate.
- Participates or leads development of positive behavior support systems and development of intervention strategies.
- Work successfully and positively with all students to provide them with assistance in meeting their educational needs.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and implement disciplinary intervention steps including PBIS.
- Interpret attendance data accurately. Coordinate, facilitate, and implement attendance intervention steps, including but not limited to holding attendance conferences and making home connections.
- Implement parent involvement at school sponsored events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 60 Semester/90 Quarter Hours of College Credits
- Must be willing to assist students with behavioral challenges and assist with monitoring and implementation of behavioral plans
- Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
(Prefer that college credits be in education or related area)
SALARY INFORMATION
Pay Grade 65
$2997.47 - $5335.06 per month
(based on 0-36 years of experience in a school system)
Full-time, 10 months
